June (Knighthorse/Lovable Dolls, 2010)
« on: January 23, 2016, 05:50:44 PM »
While my doll web site is off line, I put selected photos of June in an album here:
June (Knighthorse/Lovable Dolls, 2010)

As well as my own photos, it includes two pics by Italian photographer Annalisa Falcone. A different mind behind a different camera creates a different photo!

Thanks grenouille. Annalisa's photos make the dolls look even more real somehow! Two examples:

Artificial Intelligence

Summer Breeze

In comparison, I think my photos are a little more clunky, such as this one based on the Anime Gunslinger Girl, set in Italy. (Although June is older than the gunslinger girls.) A rather slow moving story, but I like it, even though it starts with tragedy. (One girl is deliberately run over by her parents, rebuilt with carbon fiber skeleton parts and such like, and adopted by the government's anti-Mafia hit squad.) It also ends in tragedy. Its theme tune is by the Scottish group the Delgados.

Everhard,

It still amazes me how "English" June looks! I would expect her 'accent' to be strongly British, too. She would most likely respond to my comment by saying "Quite!" with a smug smile on her face.  ;D

By the way: The "Assassinette" picture - remind me to stay on her good side!

:) :) :)

What's that your girl's holding in the last photo?

I too LOVED 'Gunslinger Girl.' It's as if Luc Besson wrote an anime!

I got to meet the actress whom played Triela at a convention.

My understanding is that it's based on a Playstation game which was never released in the West due to the mere fact it has kids with guns.

The manga was also great as it explore new stories beyond the show.

Second two can be skipped altogether. Everything we loved about season 1 is gone.

It is a pump-action machine gun made out of a camera tripod, a belt of plastic ammunition, and a bicycle pump (sticking out the front).

Here she is with Laura, a 4woods Neo-J.

Younger June

And here she has borrowed Laura's body -- facilitated by her own body having a 4woods skeleton, including the head-body connection.

I love your photography of June, she is such a proper lady. She also has a superbly rendered and realistic face. Her bob cut wig and bangs perfectly suit her nature. The original Yvette head was a lovely design, mature yet youthful in its appearance. Viewing your photos of June prompted me to hunt for and finally obtain my own Yvette head/body 1 combination, Marie, my first doll.

If she could talk, she'd have a posh accent.

June is quite lovely. She has the kind of beauty that will shine through regardless of what she is doing, whether that be holding a book or an assault rifle.

Thanks guys. She caused a stir in Bournemouth on Sunday...

June at the Barbie doll café

FLIRT Café Bar, otherwise known as the Barbie doll café, occupies the ground floor of the central library in Bournemouth, England.

Piano is June's forte

As well as the headless doll on the piano, hanging from the ceiling (out of view) in this corner is a bunch of cavorting Barbie dolls in scanty clothes, one of them suspended upside down by her ankles.

This was for a television station in Italy. They hired a taxi to take us (reporter, cameraman/translator, me, and June) to the cafe. FLIRT is known for its varied customer base. All ages, all types. However, I suspect that June is the first life-size doll they had there.

Those are the only two photos that are worth showing.
