Title: New upgrades to Sinthetics skeletons
Post by: Sinthetics on February 13, 2014, 09:21:24 PM
After some struggles people have had with dolls breaking, we have started making all the "femurs" from metal conduit for all Sinthetics. The dolls that are in production waiting for silicone to be poured have all been retrofitted with the new thighs. Any future dolls will have these new thighs. The weight difference is nominal enough to be insignificant. Matt has done all kinds of stress tests to determine that if someone is able to break these new parts they must be Hercules. It is not possible to retrofit existing dolls to have entirely metal femurs without causing a massive scar and doing huge repairs.

Please continue to pay attention to the correct ways to move the joints and continue trying to learn proper ways if you are uncertain.
Tip of the day: NEVER reposition the legs without bending the knees first. Think about how it would feel for someone to move you that way and be conscious of leverage and angles.
As with everything, if it doesn't want to go the way you are pushing it, stop pushing that way. Also keep in mind that if you did not purchase your dolls new, from us, your warranty is void. One never knows what people do behind closed doors even if they swear they were careful. Even that guy with the saws-all said he was careful...

To the person who was worried about Sinthetics neck breaks - there hasn't been one of those reported in years. Since somewhere in 2012 all Sinthetics have metal-reinforced cross bars in the neck/back. If a doll is properly used, stored, lifted and supported neck issues should not happen.

We hope these upgrades make everyone happy.

That's excellent news!  Thanks for making the announcement public, I figure most companies wouldn't want to publicize that kind of thing.  Here's to Sinthetics for having faith in its customers.

Excellent news!

This will now move the weak link to the joint. Not to say the joint is weak, but the stress will be concentrated there. All the more reason to be careful on how the joint moves.

At least if the joint breaks, it will be easier to replace than a bone.

This is very good news.

Continuous improvement keeps a company on top of it's game, and ahead of the competition.

We approach the day when repair tutorials will be a thing of nostalgia.

Well done.

is it possible for you to post a photo  of the skeleton?

This is usually a trade secret, and has been for many years.

Not just for Sinthetics, but most every doll-maker.

Good to know as I now thinking on getting my girl from you but want to make sure she last her time with me.  I am very careful with everything I own but want to make sure she's up to it  :)    sometimes it's always better to wait and let the bugs come out ...
