How to post a photo from coppermine with a mobile device
« on: September 19, 2019, 01:31:55 AM »
Hey ODC friends!

I wanted to share how I have learned to post pictures from coppermine gallery to ODC from a mobile device,
I do not own a computer, I’m really not very tech savy, but I have had an iPad since 2011 and I kinda know my way around one, they work the same as an iPhone just a bigger screen so you can do this on your mobile phone as well. I’m sure it is possible with a android device all you need to do is copy and paste

First you need the img boxes, everyone should know the Mona Lisa button does that for you, it is here

Next you need coppermine userpics address it looks like this

  http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/

I have a set short cut in my devices so when I type the letters Hodc my shortcut pops up and types everything for me, that makes it cool to post pics on the go, like when your at dollapalooza

Now all you need is the jpeg numbers copied right after the last slash after userpics/ get them here in coppermine below your pic, if you don’t see them touch the I key to the left of your pic and it should pop up

Now if you did everything correct it should look like this http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/33A7D59C-5D2B-4199-8B62-40FBC408D79A.jpeg

Had I put that text between the img boxes you’d see this

I hope this helps you new members and others to posts more pics easier, it’s always nice to see more pics  ;D

Halleheals,

Nicely done tutorial! I have never used a tablet or telephone to access the World Wide Web ("the internet"). Those who use these devices will much appreciate this!

This is great HH!

I personally don't have one of those modern do-hicky's but many here do and this will be of great help to them.

Thanks :)

Thank you guys, I had a little help from a kind member here when I started so I thought it’d be nice to pay it forward

Camp, good point! let me try and help with this because it really helps to have the shortcut.
Coppermine is set up so from apple devices you cannot copy everything from the same spot, you ether have to copy and paste twice or type out the http part
So I put the
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/    on a shortcut that types all that just by typing in the letters “hodc”

So first go to your settings

Then in settings go to general

In general setting you’ll see keyboard

In keyboard settings you’ll see text replacement, touch that

Then in text replacements you’ll see a plus sign top right to add your custom shortcut

Now you can put in the top line what you want the text to say and in the bottom column your shortcut
Once again you need it to type

 http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/

Then hit save and your done  ;D

And now You guys can post pics while your at Dollstock  :D

Also, check the orientation.  Apparently fruity devices automatically reorient images stored "sideways" for viewing on the device, however, they will be uploaded in whatever orientation they are stored.  Our Gallery software doesn't allow you to rotate images after they are uploaded, so you have to do it before you upload them.

Camp! I see you’ve got it working really good!

Incred and Z, good points as well, coppermine likes it under 3400 pixels I believe
If they are straight in imagesize app they usually load correctly  :thumb:

Incred that pic of Julie made me laugh till my belly hurt!

Thanks for the great tutorial HH! It was very helpful..

Anyways while I was playing around with my new IPad and trying to figure out this whole how to post a photo thing using a mobile device.
I stumbled across a bit of a short cut. And figured I'd share it. Now it's possible that this short cut may only work if you have a most recent
4th Generation IPad.  I don't know. But if it is the case and a 4th Gen is what you have. Then here's another way you can post the pictures.

1. Log on to Coppermine and find the picture you wish to post in your thread. Then tap on the picture on the screen to Maximize it.

2. Once the picture shows up in it's maximum size. Then press and hold your finger on the picture on the screen for a few seconds until
a popup window appears. From there you want to select Copy Image.  (Do not select Copy Link URL..  It don't work)  Selecting Copy Image
will actually copy the entire URL path. Much like when you select Copy Image Address on a PC.

3. After you have copied the image into the clipboard.  You will need to go back to the tread where you wish to add the
picture to.  And select the Mona Lisa Icon.

4. Once you have selected the Mona Lisa Icon two boxes should appear in the text field with the text img in them.  Should look like the
example below..

5. From there you just put the cursor between the two img boxes (as shown above) and press the paste icon on the lower left corner of the
screen (shown below).. And the image address in the text field should now look something like the picture below..

6. Last thing to do before you hit the post button. Is to first hit preview to make sure everything looks good. If it does. Hit that post icon
and your done!  :D  :thumb:
