What would you do if....
« on: February 15, 2021, 06:47:12 PM »
After reading about the theft of the sex doll it set my mind to wondering what would you do if you returned home to find all your girls/guys  missing?
The extraordinary is in what we do.....Not who we are.

1) Check camera footage.
2) Lock and Load.
3) Go doll hunting.

SVU doesn't track mannequins :( as missing people require a different avenues of investigation than stolen property (yes, I know how cold that sounds).

I agree with you that it would "be an odd insurance claim," but it would be an even odder police report - which works to your advantage as newspapers/local news stations LOVE "weird police reports." Yes, it's possible that some late nite comedians make fun of you for having one, but it also means that you are more likely to get her back because legal ways to sell sex dolls are already somewhat limited (and for not nearly as much as you paid for them :(), and those remaining avenues will be more wary to have such a "famous" item in stock - especially if their buyers could recognize her from news reports (kinda doubtful as the hair/clothes would be different by then, but still...).

So, either you get her back... or she goes thrown into a dumpster along with the rest of their bodies unsold merch.

Amen, but this would only work if you had a prime suspect.

If my whole house was burglarized I'd collect on the insurance and buy a new doll. If only the doll was stolen I look for a suspect closer to home whom knew I owned a love doll. In this case I WOULD take private action against the thief.

During the pandemic the police frankly aren't doing anything about crimes short of homicide.

Two months ago ever car on my street was broken into. When we called the police they said they "don't get involved."
