Pass Me The Dunce Cap Again.
« on: November 11, 2017, 03:34:38 PM »
After a successful Halloween shoot  I did what every doll owner knows not to do. Yes. Black panties left on too long leave a black stain. I didn't wash in Ammonia like I have been told 12 dozen times..    I certainly know better then this.

Yes it's my beautiful EJ... >:D

THIS HAS BEEN SAID A THOUSAND TIMES BUT  I WILL REPEAT. Let this be a warning to all new doll owners. Be ware of cheap garments with black dye. Do not leave on for long periods of time. Always wash in Ammonia before putting on your doll.

Perhaps Mahtek can give more info on this procedure and perhaps some tips on how to reduce or remove the stain.
Humble servant of CJ's Harem .

If I die of vanity, promise me, promise me,
They bury me some place I don't want to be,
You'll dig me up and transport me, unceremoniously,
Away from the swollen city-breeze, garbage bag trees,
Whispers of disease and the acts of enormity
And lower me slowly, sadly and properly
Get Ry Cooder to sing my eulogy,

Oh Nooo.   Sorry to hear that  :(
"Leaving it to the imagination" is highly overrated.

Sandy is a B6 F1 Realdoll. In addition she has several F1 expression faces as well as standard F10 and f11 faces. She also has several sets of reuseable "Real Breast" prosthetic breasts.

Yep, did the same to Julia's bum with a black dress and the dark stain disappeared within about 2 weeks.

Yes, it will fade (actually, disperse throughout the doll), it just sucks having to wait for it to happen.

The reason for washing in ammonia is that "like dissolves like". Oil and water don't mix, but motor oil and vegetable oil will mix. Most modern dyes are of a class of chemicals called amines. Ammonia is the base chemical the amines are made from. Therefore, any excess dye will be stripped loose by the ammonia and carried away by the water and detergent.

One note of caution. Some black and red garments will never stop bleeding. Usually these are cheaper garments, and you'll know when you have one. After 5 or so hand washings with ammonia, the dye in the water is just as dark as when you started. Nothing to do but throw it away, or leave it on just long enough to take a picture, but no longer.

Don't beat yourself up too much, Smoke. We all have, or will make that mistake.

Daphne has some reddish tint to her from a leotard/tutu I bought for her. Was the first thing I put her in and only had it on her for a few hours. I have since washed it, but haven't put it on her again, yet.

How much ammonia should I use for a bathroom sink hand washing? Would like to avoid problems in the future.

Thanks for the info.

Jeb,

In a bathroom sink, about 1/2 of a coffee cup is all that you needs for a sink full of water.
